Leisure Resort in Pushkar, Rajasthan

In the centre of a desert state, by the majestic Aravalli range, on the shores of a lake, lies the town of fairs and festivities, Pushkar. Located 10 kms north east from the city of Ajmer, Pushkar is a pilgrimage site for Hindus as well as Sikhs, with most of the temples and ghats having been built in the 18thcentury. This makes Pushkar one of the oldest cities in the country. Though many temples were destroyed during the Muslim era, they were eventually rebuilt over the course of time. The red spired Brahma temple, which is the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma, is one of the most famous amongst all other temples in Pushkar. It is believed that the temple was built by Pushkar, the father of Vedmata Gayatri, who was married to Lord Brahma. Pushkar is not only a sacred place for Hindus, it also holds immense religious importance for the Sikh community as well. This holy and vibrant town is also a residing place for gurudwaras for Guru Nanak Dev ji and Guru Gobind Singh ji.
